If in doubt then UK Campsite and it's directory seem to be the default method of locating campsites. However while searching Ireland I became of the opinion that I've camped in more places than they list.
At that point I became aware of Archies Campings By Satelite.
Still a bit sparse on Ireland but far more encyclopaedic for Europe.
You need to load Google Earth first before Archies will work.
In some areas it lists more UK campsites than UK Campsite. I've just reviewed the Chitchester area for campsites close to Goodwood and there are a lot more listed here.
You have to check how current the sites are as it lists out of date locations. I was heartbroken to find the first campsite I stayed at in Europe a lovely forest site above Le Havre has been shut since 2007.
I have a few qestions and comments about using this but as many on here are far more computer savvy than I I'll let you play first.
