We bought an awning a few weeks ago off fleabay. It is an orange and white one, which we thought would be the right one for Phoenix. We have since looked at various pictures on here and have noticed that the 5 berth Dandys have flaps on their bat wings with pop studs on them, we do not have these. We are sure this awning we have got is for a 5 berth. Has anybody seen or know if they made an awning for a 4 berth Dandy?
Or has anyone got one and would like to do a swap with us.

There are a number of variations to the awnings done over the years. Not all have the press studs

the press stud are different on very awning. we have got a brown and white awning on our dandy to fasten most of the press studs we have to have it slopping forward.
the roof on the 5 are much wider then the 4 dandy try a 5 awning on the weekend at shay just to see how they fit.
have you got any caravan places that may be able to alter the awning for you ?

Hi Pat,

We do have a place locally that could alter the awning, but altering the awning is not the problem. We have no studs on Phoenix to fit it to. We have put these photos on to show this, and also show a small sun canopy that did come with her.

Perhaps ours was not meant to have a full awning?

oh i see you haven't got any bat wings on your dandy 4. knoxy has got bat wings on this which seems the same ages as yours. mine has bat wings to. so yours must a the earliest dandy about.

you could fit some bat wings to make the awning fit

looking at the awning it looks the right size

if don't want it i know some after an awning if the side are the right colour

Pat,

sorry just got back from pub. We don't really want to fit bat wings as we want to keep her as original as possible. The sun canopy in the photos we want to keep, but would probably part with the full awning (white roof, orange sides) as we don't think we can use it without altering Phoenix. Will post some Photos of full awning tomorrow work permitting.

Ours has got the awning flaps with press studs, I've understood that the later ones didn't, perhaps Phoenix was ordered without?

Is the actual coloured PVC wall the bat wing, because they open like, well a bat wing - or a phoenix wing.

We asummed the wall was the bat wing, because as you say it opens like a bat / phoenix wing but we might be wrong! Hopefully somebody can answer this for us too.

All Dandys were made to order...

If the purchaser didn't want an awning then no facilities for fitting one were included.

Also when included the studs were not always in the same place. 2 Dandys but awning NOT interchangeable!

Thats why they are so unique!

Regards
Ian
